Cherryl and Nasser had an amazing wedding. Unfortunately, we weren't able to be their day-of photographer.

Apparently, things were running late on her big day, so she wasn't able to get all the desired solo shots, couple shots, and entourage shots (primarily with her girls). We're glad we were able to step in for her.

Christine + Jeremy

Japanese Tea Gardens, Hayward

We had a blast at Christine and Jeremy's wedding last Saturday. Their kids are hilarious, and awesome dancers--I must say. My wife still talks about the yummy cake. Hanging out with them is like hanging out with family. You instantly feel at home.

You might have noticed a little more feminine feel to my photos, and that's because Emma has been taking on a stronger role in the post-processing. I like vibrant colors and pictures that deliver punch, while she likes a more muted, vintage palette.

I mentioned that we would be busy with personal engagements and with side projects. Rhoda's wedding was one of our personal engagements. Emma was the MOH, our daughter Ella was the flower girl, and I served as babysitter for the night. I was asked to help second shoot this wedding (and would normally never pass up a chance to work with Ken--who also happens to be the photographer who I started assisting), but I was SO looking forward to being a guest for a change and getting to sit on the other end of the lens as I watched our two great friends get hitched---besides, as Emma reminded me, she needs me to assist HER with wrangling the little flower girl as she would be busy tending to the bride.

Our Second Shooter

We'll be at a wedding on 8/8/8 for Rhoda and Matt. Our awesome second shooter Shine Tuazon took this photo. We're so glad to have her on our team.

Side Projects

One of my side projects is to build a new wedding album for my wife and I, as our album from back in 2002 is as heavy as our 2 year old.




I'm thinking I'll create a smaller, sleeker coffee book album or one of our beloved flush-mount albums.


We're also starting to offer guest books for our e-session clients, so I need to create a studio sample of one of those.

So many side projects, love it!

Molly and John

We had one of our Short and Sweet weddings (3 hours) last Sunday for a lovely couple, John and Molly. Our services were a gift to them from a close friend. What a sweet, and thoughtful gift.

Hats, hats, and more hats! Loved it. The coziness of the ceremony, mixed in with the beauty of the surroundings made for such a sweet wedding.

Molly was such a lovely, and playful bride. I just wish I had more time with her! I never knew three hours could fly by so fast (squeezing 15 minute formals here and there).

Just a note to my future couples, it's good to have at least 45-60 minutes set aside for formals. The time is so worth it! I understand that this isn't possible with the shorter weddings, so I try to squeeze everything into 15-20 minute increments. :)
